The U16 Cois Fharraige team had a good win in Spiddal on Saturday where they played Abbeyknockmoy. Leading 2-6 to 0-3 at half time with goals from Aodh Bohan and Gearóid Ó Conghaile, Cois Fharraige ran out winners by 2-10 to 2-6.

The Junior 1 Championship starts Saturday 21st with Bearna/na Forbacha playing local rivals Spiddal in Furbo pitch at 1pm.  Meanwhile the U14s play Athenry at 4pm in Spiddal the same afternoon.

Galway GAA and the Pearse Stadium Committee welcome all Supporters and Patrons to Galway and Salthill on Sunday next, 15th March 2015 for the Football and Hurling games in the Allianz Leagues.

Having led  by 3-4 to 0-1 at half time, Cois Fharraige Under 16s beat Salthill 5-6 to 2-1 in their opening match on Saturday in Cappagh, with the help of goals from Gearóid O Conghaile (2), Oisín Gormley, Shane Taaffe & Caoimhín O Sé.

Bearna/na Forbacha Under 14s begin their Championship against Abbeyknockmoy this Saturday, March 7th at 2.30pm in Abbeyknockmoy.

Also on Saturday in a must-win Championship game Cois Fharraige Under 21s play Padraig Pearses at 3pm in Carnmore.

This weekend will be the third week of fixtures in our Last Man Standing Competition and amazingly we are already down to the last 32, from our initial 277 entrants.

No doubt all eyes will be on Old Trafford this afternoon, as 27 of our remaining 32 contestants have selected Man Utd to beat Sunderland. Stoke and Swansea are the only other teams selected this weekend.

The first round of the Galway under-16 Hurling Championship gets underway this Saturday, February 28th.

Cois Fharraige (Bearna/na Forbacha & An Spidéal) will compete in the B Championship and they take on neighbours Salthill-Knocknacarra at 12.30 in Cappagh in their opening fixture.

The other teams in the group are Moycullen, Mullagh, Michael Cusacks, Tommy Larkins, Abbeyknockmoy and Carnmore.

The draws for the Junior A and Junior 1 Championship's both took place this past Monday evening in the Salthill Hotel.

In the Junior A Championship we were drawn in a group of 8 teams, along with Ballygar, Gort, Sarsfields, St Thomas, Clarinbridge, Kilnadeema/Leitrim and Mullagh. The top 4 teams qualify for the Knockout Stages.

Our Cois Fharraige u21 side were defeated by a strong Killimordaly outfit in our opening match in the u21 B Championship last Saturday on a scoreline of 4-15 to 1-16
