Cois Fharraige U15 hurlers had another good win on Monday against Ballinderreen in Spiddal. Leading by 2-6 to 1-5 at half time, they continued their good form through the second half winning by 4-16 to 2-10.  Both teams go through now to the county semifinals - Cois Fharraige as group winners.
The adult hurlers are in action on Saturday Oct 1st in the Junior A county preliminary quarter final against local rivals Mícheál Breathnach. The game is in Moycullen and throw-in is at 2pm.
Bearna-Na Forbacha U12 hurlers were in action last Saturday in the Galway U12 Group3 league semi-final against an unbeaten Gort side. Despite Bearna-Na Forbacha being slightly better in general play in the first half, Gort were more clinical in front of goal and were in front at half time. Gort forged ahead after the break to win comprehensively, although Bearna-Na Forbacha also scored some fine goals in this period. Overall it was a great year for the lads, with a haul of five wins from 7 games. Well done to the team and coaches.
The U15 Cois Fharraige U15 hurlers had a fine 4-10 to 2-4 win over Micheál Breathnach's on Saturday, and are now joint table leaders with Ballinderreen. Their next game is next Monday, Sept 19th in Spiddal against Ballinderreen with throw-in at 6:30pm.
Last but not least the U8's and U7's were in action in another blitz at the weekend, with Salthill as hosts. Over 30 players took part in an enjoyable evening of fun and hurling.
It's a busy time for local hurlers with the U10s, U12s, U15s and U21s all in action. 
Firstly Bearna-Na Forbacha face a stiff challenge in the U12 county hurling league semifinal at 11am on Saturday 10th. They play away to Gort, who are unbeaten in the league this year.  This is followed the same evening by the Cois Fharraige U21 hurlers in the championship against Portumna at Páirc na bhForbacha, with throw-in at 6pm. 
The following morning, Sunday 11th at 10:30am, the U10s host Salthill at Páirc na bhForbacha in the Go-Games series of blitzes, following last Friday's very successful games in Spiddal. To complete this weeks activities, the Cois Fharraige U15s play Balinderreen next Thursday, September 15th. The game is in Spiddal with throw-in at 6pm.
Cois Fharraige played the U13 county final last week against Padraig Pearses, and led at half-time by a creditable 2-4 to 1-4.  Against the wind in the second half however, Pearses came back strongly and lead by 4 points as the game drew to a close. Two late goals from Pearses flattered them with a 4-9 to 2-5 victory. However Cois Fharraige gained promotion to B grade for next season - well done on a great year.
Next up are the Bearna-na Forbacha U12 hurlers, who are in training currently for the county semi-final. The U8s and U10s are also in action, with Go-games re-starting at 6:30pm on Spiddal pitch this weekend, Friday Sept 2nd.
Cois Fharraige U13 hurlers played their county semi-final this week in Kenny Park against Mullagh-Kiltormer, winning on a score line of 3-7 to 2-4. Leading narrowly at half time by 1-3 to 1-2, Cois Fharraige forged ahead after the break, with Mullagh-Kiltormer narrowing the gap at the end with a late goal. It was a great win for coaches and kids, who now play the county final against the high scoring Padraig Pearses from Ballymacward in the coming days. Bearna Na Forbacha played their remaining Junior A Championship fixture against Mellows this week, losing 1-8 to 3-10. However thanks to strong results in previous matches they are through anyway to the preliminary quarter final stage, to be played in the coming weeks.
Next Thursday, September 1st, Cois Fharraige U15s take to the field for the first time this year, playing Mícheál Breathnach's at Indreabhán, with throw-in at 6pm.

The Cois Fharraige U13 hurlers are back in action next week after a long break. They take on Mullagh-Kiltormer in Kenny Park at Athenry on Tuesday August 23rd. Throw-in is at 7:15 pm.

After a setback last Friday against Craighwell, Bearna-Na Forbacha adults take on Liam Mellows next Wednesday at Tonabrocky in the last game of the Junior A group phase. A win will seal qualification to the knock out stages of the championship. Throw-in is at 7pm.
